How do the live painting events work?
Each situation is different, depending on the needs. Some may be repeats of earlier experiences, some are completely custom. For the latter, it usually starts with a phone call to explore options.

How long does a live painting event take?
It depends on the type of event it is.

1. SPEAKING WITH A PAINTING
Speaking in accompaniment with previously made artwork (ala, The Beatitudes, The Last Supper, requires about 40 minutes.

2. MULTI-DAY CONFERENCE
A large painting or mural can be done over several days at an event. These painitngs can also incorporate group participation at the event. There is an opportunity to give out small reproductions of the final art with prepared cut mats with backing and transparent envelopes.

3. SPEAKING AND PAINTING SIMULTANEOUSLY
A painting while speaking event (ala, "Christ of the Cosmos," "Who is My Neighbor," or "From Isaac to Jesus," is typically around 40 minutes.

4. SPEAKING ALONE (WITHOUT A PAINITNG)
Topics such as; "The Mandate of the Talents," "Positive Life from Ecclesiastes" will be adapted to the length of time allotted.

About an hour of set up and take down time is required for presentations involving artwork. Also, adequate platform space needs to be worked out, often in coordination with the worship team.

How does the group participation work?
Where it's desired that conference guests be part of making a painting as symbol of personal involvement, there are space and time requirements. For space, a ten foot square area is minimum, double that being better. For time, about an hour needs to be designed into the program for the group to line up at the painting area and make their mark on the canvas. Typically the image of the painting is completed later by Hyatt, involving another day. If small matted reproductions are desired as gift memories of the experience, then another day is required.

What is the size of the live event painting?
Normally the painting is fairly large, 4x8 or 6x8 ft. is not unusual. There needs to be enough space for everyone's mark, as well as large enough to be viewed from a distance. This is normally done on unstretched, primed canvas, temporarily tacked to large sheets of heavy plywood, set on easels. Ample drop cloth is used, covering floor and tables set up for the paint and wash up area.

How much does Hyatt charge to speak?
Rates vary depending on the situation. For speaking or speaking with art, any honorarium is volunteered by the sponsoring group. Expenses may be charged. For a multi-day live painting or group-participation painting event, rates are generally $5000, plus expenses, accommodations and travel (two people). More expansive artwork, for example a very involved painting or a mural, will entail additional costs.

What does it cost to give out reproductions?
Costs vary for overnight reproductions fo the final art with prepared, cut mats with backing and transparent envelopes. Factoring around $15.00 per gift item provides a general estimate.

Will Hyatt travel for events?
Hyatt will travel, but traveling may dictate the kind of event. Speaking and speaking-while-painting is viable for traveling (though the latter will entail purchasing some materials on location in advance). Traveling with pre-prepared art can be more cumbersome. Sometimes the church or organization desires to purchase the shipped artwork (usually in print form) for permanent use. This opens possibilities completely.

Will Hyatt speak multiple times?
Yes.

Who owns the artwork after the event?
Each situation is different. For a live-speaking-and-painting event there is no expectation for a beautifully finished piece of art work suitable for display. But sometimes it works out that it is. In any case, the artwork remains in the possession of the artist with ultimate designation to be determined. On a multi-day event production the possession of the artwork by the sponsor is part of the arrangement.

Does Hyatt only speak at faith events?
Any occasion "with heart" qualifies for consideration after agreement with both parties.

"Hyatt Moore is a gifted and creative servant of God who is able to take theological truth
and biblical directives and capture the force of them on canvas. His paintings have carried
the hearts and minds of our congregation beyond their provincial borders
and challenged them to think globally."

— Pastor Mike Fabarez | Compass Bible Church

"Hyatt Moore gave a very moving testimony to God's captivating grace. His presentation consisted of
1) a brief description of the many beautiful paintings that were on display; portraits of men, women,
children from around the world, 2) relating his personal journey of faith, 3) an emphasis upon his
current calling as artist, and 4) pulling all those themes together as he described the painting,
The Last Supper with Twelve Tribes "

— Rev. David R. Mattson | Gloria Dei Lutheran Church

"Every once in a while you hear a speaker who brings a timeless message in a fresh and compelling way.
Hyatt Moore is that kind of communicator. Recently he spoke at all three of our weekend services and our
people are still talking about it. You will be delighted, inspired, and challenged."

— Doug Kyle | Senior Pastor | Green Valley Church

"Everything Hyatt says and does is rooted deeply in his love for the people in God's world and the opportunity to provide the scriptures in an ever increasing number of languages. Inherent in Hyatt's presentation is a strong call to the Great Commission. We are highly motivated to continue in our primary task. Hyatt's ministry among us is cherished as a reminder of the creativity of our God. He will inspire creativity in any type of organizational setting. His presentation motivates one to return to her/his tasks with renewed vision and "outside the box" thinking."
