Last time the subject was the power of words. Perhaps it’s because of their power we’re\u00a0cautioned about their plethora. Here’s the word on it:<\/p>\n

Do not be quick with your mouth, do not be hasty in your heart to utter anything before God. God is in heaven and you are on earth, so let your words be few.*<\/strong><\/p>\n

Let your words be few.
\nNot none.
\nWe are meant to speak.<\/p>\n

But know this: Whatever you think you’re saying, you’re saying as much about yourself.<\/p>\n

Wittingly or not, it’s always a self-portrait we’re painting. And the fewer the strokes, the better the painting.<\/p>\n

Speaking on the transparency of every person,\u00a0Jesus said,\u00a0“It’s from the outflow of the heart that the mouth speaks.”<\/strong>**<\/p>\n

Better to work on the heart than the\u00a0vocabulary. What’s inside will always come out.<\/p>\n

Another thing: Under-promise, over-deliver. You’ll never disappoint.<\/p>\n

Thomas Carlyle said, “If you do not wish a man to do a thing, you had better get him to talk about it; for the more men talk, the more likely they are to do nothing else.”<\/p>\n

Talk’s cheap. “When words are scarce, they’re seldom spent in vain.” Shakespeare.<\/p>\n

Let your words be few.
\nMeasure them.
\nParticularly in the presence of God.
\nAnd where isn’t that?<\/p>\n
