September 2nd, 2009 10 Comments

Once again Anne is the featured artist at the Sandstone Gallery in Laguna Beach. The opening is this Thursday evening at the ever-popular Art Walk. It’ll be a great summer evening; come out and enjoy it…unless you’re off in Japan, like some of the subjects in this issue.

Acrylic on Paper (a new price point)

August 6th, 2009 10 Comments

For an oil painter, I’ve been doing a good deal in acrylic lately. It’s in part to create works on paper to sell for less than works on canvas. See inside. Also, you’re invited to our up-coming show at the house in the summer. It’s the weekend after next and the weather will be perfect. Click on the following for info: http://www.hyattmoore.com/egallery/wp-content/uploads/2009/08/House-Show-809-Single.pdf

Easter (or Whenever)

April 2nd, 2009 16 Comments

The Last Supper with Twelve Tribes has been my most popular painting. It continues to move out, and with me along . . . through public speaking near and far. Now a synopsis of that is on YouTube . . . viewable right here on the e-gallery, along with samples of other paintings symbolic of the season.

Enigmatic Influence–More from Anne’s Press

March 2nd, 2009 17 Comments

Enigmatic Influence seemed a fitting title of this e-gallery as it features a number of Anne’s recent creations. Besides that, it announces a number of shows (1) an opening this week of her work in Laguna, (2) both of us included at the La Quinta Art Festival, and (3) a special pre-view and sale this weekend at our studio/gallery/house. For an invitation to that go here: http://www.hyattmoore.com/_media/Loosen-Up-Workshop_March-2009.pdf

Snow Farms of Wisconsin

January 21st, 2009 25 Comments

Here’s a tribute to Winter while we’re still in its midst. Being a Southern Californian, winter is something I visit, like over Christmas, in Minnesota and Wisconsin, where we went for family and frost and a great abundance of snow. After that, it was back in the studio with a lot of white paint.

Works on Paper

January 2nd, 2009 4 Comments

Greetings of the New Year to you. Last blog featured paintings with gold; this time it’s “works on paper.” If this seems a commentary on the direction of the economy it’s only coincidental. We think you’ll find these just as special. Also take note of the classes resuming again in our studio, and a “first” for me, a weekend workshop for artists. For details or to sign up, go here: http://www.hyattmoore.com/_media/Loosen-Up-Workshop.pdf

Annual Studio Show this Weekend

November 5th, 2008 3 Comments

It’s become an annual event. Once a year we open our house and studio to all for a weekend of art. In a sense it’s an inventory sale.

A Few Recent Portraits

October 14th, 2008 11 Comments

Commissions have been in focus these last several months, and of those, a good number have been portraits. Portraits: always the most challenging of paintings. Many artists won’t attempt them, and it was awhile before I would. Now it’s a regular thing. Click the link for samples, with their stories…as well as opportunity to get one yourself, and info about our annual Open House and Show coming up.
