Custom Canvases, or Golden Arches

November 4th, 2009 22 Comments

The last little while has produced two commissions that called for canvases that would fit in arch shaped niches. Here’s a little of the process and the result as they look in their unique locations. Also, here’s your invitation to the next show at the house, and this Thursday’s art walk in Laguna.

Big Boat Splashes Over Wall

October 15th, 2009 26 Comments

Here’s an e-gallery with just one painting to share. That’s in part because this morning we’re running out the door for England. Actually we’ll be flying. (And not sailing, as the shown painting might imply.) Take a minute and enjoy.

Acrylic on Paper (a new price point)

For an oil painter, I’ve been doing a good deal in acrylic lately. It’s in part to create works on paper to sell for less than works on canvas. See inside. Also, you’re invited to our up-coming show at the house in the summer. It’s the weekend after next and the weather will be perfect. The Last Supper with Twelve Tribes has been my most popular painting. It continues to move out, and with me along . . . through public speaking near and far. Now a synopsis of that is on YouTube . . . viewable right here on the e-gallery, along with samples of other paintings symbolic of the season.

Snow Farms of Wisconsin

January 21st, 2009 25 Comments

Here’s a tribute to Winter while we’re still in its midst. Being a Southern Californian, winter is something I visit, like over Christmas, in Minnesota and Wisconsin, where we went for family and frost and a great abundance of snow. After that, it was back in the studio with a lot of white paint.

Works on Paper

January 2nd, 2009 4 Comments

Greetings of the New Year to you. Last blog featured paintings with gold; this time it’s “works on paper.” If this seems a commentary on the direction of the economy it’s only coincidental. We think you’ll find these just as special. Also take note of the classes resuming again in our studio, and a “first” for me, a weekend workshop for artists.
